Craftsmanship

THE SOPHISTICATED JOURNEY OF OUR GLASS

Did you know that can take up to 24 hours for a single piece of product to be finished?
.
It begins with sourcing raw materials of highest purity, which are mixed into a batch and melted at 1,500 °C for at least 12 hours.
.
Next is forming time. For the mouth-blown forming technique used at Etna, intense focus and skilled execution are required
.
By the time forming is completed, the glass will have passed through no less than ten pairs of hands

OUR CRAFTSMEN, OUR EXTENDED FAMILY

Our craftsmen have on average 25 years of glass blowing experience and possess techniques that have been passed along for centuries. Many of them have been with us for over 20 years, which is why we feel like a big, extended family.
.
In fact, some of them even learnt their glass-blowing techniques from their parents or grandparents, who also worked with us when our granddad started it all out as a small studio almost half a century ago!
