The Sophisticated Journey of Our Glass
Glassblowing is a sophisticated process. It can take up to 24 hours for a single piece of product to be finished!
It begins with sourcing raw materials of highest purity, which are mixed into a batch and melted at 1,500 °C for at least 12 hours.
Next is forming time. Intense focus, skilled execution, are required for the mouth-blown forming technique – from manually gathering the required volume of hot molten glass out of the furnace to blowing at the right pressure and careful handling.
By the time forming is completed, the glass will have passed through no less than ten pairs of hands!
The glass is then cut, cooled and polished – a set of steps that takes further several hours.
Finally the glass is inspected to ensure highest quality, before it gets packed and delivered to you.
Our Extended Family
Our craftsmen have on average 25 years of glass-blowing experience and possess techniques that have been passed along for centuries.
Many of them have been with us for over 20 years, which is why it feels like we're one big, extended family!
In fact, some of them even learnt their glass-blowing techniques from their parents, who also worked with us when our granddad started it all out as a small studio almost half a century ago!
